The Story
- There have been times on this site that we find ourselves somewhat surprised to discover a young, raised profile college QB with a high draft stock is already married. There are various reasons why it happens: they have a child together, they want to get married to avoid the pressures of women on the road, or their faith compels them to get married before they get down, Or in the case of Brandon Weeden, it's because you're not such a young college QB anymore, and your 20's are almost over already.
Brandon Weeden came to Oklahoma State after a failed professional baseball career, and has now set himself up as a likely 2nd round pick. Brandon and Melanie were together in 2007 when he walked away from baseball after five seasons in the minors with the seemingly crazy plan of embarking on a new sport to try his hand at football... back in college. While Melanie wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea, she stood by him and supported him after some initial disbelief. She described her initial reaction to the news in an interview with AZCentral.com:
"I didn't think he was being serious. He's been home less than a week, not time to even digest baseball was over. I thought he'd lost his mind. I guess I need to learn to trust him."
Trust him she did, as the two were married July 27, 2009 Isla Mujeres, Mexico. Though they currently live near campus in Stillwater, OK, they they'll probably want to call the moving trucks after day 2 of the draft.

- Man, Ryan Broyles must be in love.
Many high profile college and professional athletes prefer to keep their relationship status under wraps as to not mess up their game on the road. For stud Oklahoma wideout Ryan Broyles, that's not the case. Broyles proposed to his longtime girlfriend in the fall of 2011, and immediately went to Twitter to announce to the world,
Just proposed to the love of my life! @1Mary_Beth !!!!!
In fairness, it does make sense for Broyles and Offenburger to publicly demonstrate their love for one another, as they are both extremely dedicated, and devout Christians. Mary Beth convinced Ryan to begin attending church every week, and the couple reads their bibles together frequently(the bibles were given as gifts to and from one another).
In an article on FoxSports.com, Ryan Broyles remarkable life and football turnaround were discussed. Broyles points specifically to a mission trip to earthquake ravaged Haiti as changing him forever, and finally committing to God and religion once and for all. He acknowledges curbing his late night partying, ending his swearing habit, divorcing himself from rap music, and incredibly enough,... ending his sex life with his girlfriend.
Fortunately for Broyles, he won't have to hold out too much longer, as the two will be married on November 20, 2012.

The Story
- As we roll out our coverage for the 2012 NFL Draft, we've been trying to cover the guys drafted on Thursday night sitting in the green room in New York. There are probably players who are going to be drafted long before Michigan State's TE Garrett Celek that we could have spent our time researching and posting on,... but we promise you, the reader, that would be a travesty and disservice to you.
Why?
Meet Garrett Celek's girlfriend Sarah Hinton. Sarah was a contestant in the 2010 Miss Hooters competition and also in the 2012 Hooters Dream Girl Aruba competition. She began working at a Hooters in Saginaw, MI, during her Freshman year at Michigan State. She has appeared in various Hooters calendars, including being the featured model on July 2011. Admittedly, she didn't walk away with either of the Miss Hooters titles, but I think she'll easily walk away with the Miss NFL Draft 2012 title.
As if that's not enough for you, let's take a stroll through her Hooters profile. She enjoys going to MSU Spartan football games and would want her boyfriend to cook her the following meal: "A nice juicy filet with asparagus and potatoes."
Seriously, Garrett,... who cares when your name gets called. You've already won.

- In a scene straight out of the Keanu Reeves movie, The Replacements, the world first met Justin Blackmon's girlfriend with a sideline kiss. Following Blackmon's ridiculous 8 reception, 186 yard, 3 TD performance in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl, he jogged to the Oklahoma State cheerleaders to find and embrace his girlfriend, Mariel Dunlap.
Mariel Dunlap is a student at OK State, who originally hails from Edmond, OK or just under an hour away from the Stillwater campus. She is obviously a cheerleader, and was also a member of OSU's 2010 National Champion Cheerleading spirit squad. According to her bio on the OSU Cheer site, she says the three words that most aptly describe her are, colorful, optimistic and spunky, her biggest influence in life is her mother, and that her favorite quote is: "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
No word if Mariel will be in the green room with Justin at the 2012 NFL draft, but you can imagine she'll grab some more screen time once Justin goes towards the top.
