The Story
- Owner of the Texas Rangers, Nolan Ryan's wife Ruth Ryan met her husband-to-be when she was just 13 years old. 15 year old Nolan Ryan and 13 year old Ruth Holdorff met while they both attended Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas. Nolan was a standout baseball and basketball star, while Ruth was a state champion tennis player - in short, they were the prototypical high school power couple. Hell, they were probably Prom King and Queen for all we know. The two were married on June 26th, 1967. Nolan and Ruth Ryan went on to have three children together: Robert Reid Ryan (born on November 21, 1971), Jimmy Reese Ryan (born on January 21, 1976) and Wendy Lynn Ryan (born on March 22, 1977).
Ruth Ryan is heavily involved in charity work. Along with Nolan, she helped to create the Nolan Ryan Foundation which provide resources for youth, education, and community development. She is also very involved at her alma mater, Alvin College, where she is involved with the Board of trustees, the ACC Foundation and also has the softball field named after her.
Ruth also recently published a book about her life with Nolan Ryan, fittingly called "Covering Home: My Life with Nolan Ryan". Ruth also provides some insight into her family values on the Nolan Ryan's All-Natural Beef website. Hop on over and read How to Make Sit-Down Dinners and Busy Sports Schedules Mix.
Ruth Ryan was born Ruth Holdorff in Alvin, Texas on January 10, 1949.

The Story
- Fast Facts: Al Davis married the former Carol Segal in 1954, and the two were married until his death from prostate cancer on the morning of October 8, 2011. They have one child together, son Marc; who along with his mother Carol, are the direct heir's to Al Davis' fortune and presumably the Raiders team.
Most folks reading this know of Davis' cold public demeanor, where he was never shy to speak candidly with no concern for any possible public humiliation of his target. However, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette passed along this interesting tidbit on the long time Raiders owner in today's obituary.
When his wife, Carol, had a serious heart attack, he moved into her hospital room and lived there for more than a month. And when he hears that even a distant acquaintance is ill, he'll offer medical help without worrying about expense."
Reports are currently circulating that the succession plan has always been, and will be that Marc is to take over day to day ownership operations of the team.

- UPDATE: 06-08-2012: It would appear that Bob Kraft has a girlfriend! After being spotted at last night's Celtics game with this mystery girl, PlayerWives.com has unearthed some info on Bob Kraft's girlfriend Ricki.
- We've been meaning to put a post up about Bob Kraft's Wife Myra Kraft since we started this site, but just never got around to it. We regret to report that the passing of Myra Kraft, on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, has finally spurred us to create this post.
Bob Kraft, the owner of the PlayerWives.com favorite New England Patriots, and his wife Myra Hiatt Kraft were often in the public eye thanks to their charitable donations. Myra managed the Robert and Myra Kraft Family Foundation and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation. Their many donations ranged from education to child and women issues to healthcare as well as American and Israeli causes. Her perspective on how to choose the recipients of the money they gave away was quite simple, but smart. "I'm not looking for earth-shattering ideas, but good programs that you know whatever you give them is going to be used well, and that it's needed." Myra Kraft inherited her sense of philanthropic duty from her father, Jacob Hiatt, who avoided the Nazi regime by emigrating to the United States from Lithuania in the 1930's and went on to become one of Worcester's greatest philanthropists.
Bob Kraft met Myra while she was attending Brandeis university and after a short courtship, they were married in June of 1963. Bob and Myra have long lived in Chestnut Hill. The Kraft's ended up having four sons, the first of which was born a year before she graduated from Brandeis. Their son Jonathan Kraft is the president and COO of the New England Patriots. Their other sons are Daniel Kraft, Josh Kraft and David Kraft.
In a statement issued by the team:
"Words cannot express the deep sorrow that we feel in learning of the passing of Myra Hiatt Kraft. Myra passed away early this morning after a courageous battle with cancer. We are all heartbroken. The global philanthropic community and the New England Patriots family have suffered a great loss.”
Myra Kraft was 68 years old.
A side note that, while pessimistic and hardly of importance in comparison to her passing, is relevant nonetheless: The passing of Bob Kraft's wife Myra is sure to have an effect on the NFL labor negotiations. Bob Kraft has played a major role in these negotiations and at this 11th hour, one wonders how this will play out with his involvement possibly limited.
