The Story
- Every year that ESPN broadcasts the NFL draft, it's a safe bet that we're going to see the occasional wife or girlfriend in the green room.
However, after night 2 of the NFL draft, even we were taken aback by the amount of camera time that ESPN dedicated to Wisconsin Quarterback Russell Wilson's wife Ashton Wilson (formerly Ashton Meem).
Russell and Ashton Wilson were married January 14, 2012 at the Country Club of Virginia. They first met in high school, and struck up a long distance relationship after reacquainting at a party the next summer. Ashton left to the University of Georgia before transferring to NC State with Russell. After she graduated from NC State, Russell transferred to Wisconsin to raise his draft stock, and make him the Seahawks 3rd round draft pick.
After Ashton graduated NC State, she began a career in the insurance industry in North Carolina. The couple will now be relocating to the Pacific Northwest shortly where I'm sure there are plenty of cubicle gigs available if she so chooses.

Ashton, there will be many things said about you and Russ durning his career. Many of them will be good, but some of them will be bad. Ashton you and Russell have a great chance at a wonderful life and certainly that is what I wish for you. Please take that and run with it. Next time I'm in Seattle I'll buy you guys a cup of coffee and a bone for that cute doggy of yours. By the way...isn't tomorrow your anniversary..? Happy anniversary !!!
