Love him or hate him, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has a proven track record with taking on reclamation projects. His most successful example is Randy Moss, and while there have been a few swings and misses through the years, he's never been afraid to try again. After the colossal bombs Chad Ochocinco and Albert Haynesworth from 2011, Belichick entered the season without a project, but was sure to find one mid season.

Desperate for help in the pathetic excuse of a contender's secondary, Belichick called up old friend and Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano and asked about his troubled, and suspended, youngster: Aqib Talib. For only a fourth round pick, Aqib Talib has come to New England and helped to calm a secondary that was sure to submarine any chance of playoff success this season. His arrival (along with the emergence of rookie 7th rounder Alfonzo Dennard), allowed Devin McCourty to move to safety and allow everyone a stronger pass defense.

Talib has arrived in New England, seemingly free of any baggage that dogged his immense skills for four seasons in Tampa Bay. It also appears that Talib arrived in New England without any females in tow. While we know about a few relationships in his time in the public eye, there isn't a whole lot known about Aqib Talib's girlfriends. In 2007, Aqib Talib's girlfriend Cortney Jacobs gave birth to a a girl, and the couple's only child. Jacobs was a sprinter at the University of Kansas, where Talib also went to school.

Before his move to Tampa Bay, things fizzled out. The trail runs somewhat cold, other than a small amount of information from 2011 on Aqib Talib's girlfriend Gypsy Benitez. At the time, both Talib and Benitez brought a four year old to the relationship, which helped make the pairing more natural.

Talib remains a mystery. Has he figured it out, or is he being quiet to land the monster payday his talent alone supports? We'll keep an eye on his off the field activities, and as Pats fans here at PlayerWives, we'll definitely keep an eye on him on the field as well.
