Ashley Harris, wife of ex-Bears Pro Bowl defensive tackle, Tommie Harris, died Sunday, February 12, 2012. The 29 year old Ashley was rushed to an Oklahoma hospital two days earlier when falling into a coma after suffering either a stroke or brain aneurysm. Earlier in the day, family friend Bill Horn spoke to the press on behalf of the family, saying they were holding out for a “miracle.” Hall confirmed her death to the Chicago Sun Times later that afternoon.
Tommie and Ashley were married in January, 2012 after a tumultuous 2011 for Tommie. After being cut by the Bears, he was picked up by the Colts for a brief stint before settling in with the Chargers for 13 games last season. In an additionally tragic turn to the tragic story, the couple has two young children, the second of which born only four months ago.
