• UPDATE: 06/14/2011: The situation with Cristal Taylor appears to be in Dirk's rear view at this point. Not only did he finally win an NBA title, but he also has a new girlfriend, Ms. Jessica Olsson. Check out our posting on Dirk Nowitzki's girlfriend.
  
  05/22/2009: Well, some of the things we didn't know are coming to light.
  1. Her name is officially Crista Ann Taylor, but has gone by Cristal Taylor for years(presumably since her last arrest). 2. Taylor is in fact pregnant with Dirk's child, and admits that they were engaged, but places emphasis on the word "were." 3. Apparently, there's more to meet the eye with Taylor, as this isn't the first professional athlete she's entered into a serious relationship with. Former NFL QB Tony Banks also admits to a long term relationship with Taylor, though no word on what her name was during that time period.
  UPDATE 2, 3, 4: (08/24/09) Cristal Taylor was sentenced to 5 years in prison on August 24 for violating the terms of probation from a former conviction. Additionally, Nowitzki has applied for sole custody of his unborn child with Taylor. Let's break this down a little bit here: Dirk Nowitzki, a Multi Millionaire NBA star, and generally revered good dude, vs. Cristal Taylor, a multiple time convicted felon who happens to be currently incarcerated and also seen as pretty much insane.

• Fun Facts: (05/07/2009) OK, so here's what's not known:
  1. Dirk Nowitzki may or may not be in a long term relationship with Cristal Taylor who was living in his house.
  2. Cristal Taylor may or may not be pregnant with Dirk Nowitzki's baby
  3. Dirk and Cristal may or may not be engaged, but it's difficult to tell as Dirk repeats a mantra of "I'll keep my private life private.
  
  Here is what is known:
  1. Cristal Taylor is 37 years old and knows Dirk Nowitzki
  2. Cristal Taylor has been arrested and is being held on $20,000 bond in a Dallas jail.
  3. She is in jail for violating the terms of probation from her multiple prior arrests forgery, theft, and theft of service.
  4. The normally affable Nowitzki abruptly ended a media session Thursday following a series of questions that focused exclusively on Taylor.
  5. She is booked as Cristal Taylor, but according to various media sources has also gone by as many as 16 aliases as listed on police documents. 6. Taylor likely wishes that she was Dirk Nowitzki's Wife, rather than being in jail.
• Quote: Regarding her pregnancy, Taylor says that "I didn't even know. Nobody knew until they tested me in Dallas." While we're not looking to openly challenge a person's word, we find it funny that a strong rumor on the day of her arrest is that she was pregnant, but now supposedly nobody knew before the jail testing. Hmmm..
