Here's why Michael Phelps is a boss.
Besides going to four different Olympic games and racking up 22 medals (though only 18 of which are gold medals,... slacker), Phelps somehow managed to elude all press and media in regards to his love life. Phelps is a worldwide superstar, but was never once photographed with, quoted about, referenced or acknowledged a girlfriend despite camera shutter clicking away internationally. And in addition to somehow dodging the omnipresent paparazzi, Phelps finally allowed the world to meet his girlfriend, on their own terms. No one caught them,... this was their call.
So, let's meet the mystery woman herself, Michael Phelps girlfriend Megan Rossee. Michael Phelps has been dating Rossee for almost five months and despite incredible media scrutiny and a blinding spotlight, the two were never revealed. Once Phelps wrapped up his Olympic career with medal number 22, he and Rossee took to the London nightlife, which is when Rossee finally let the cat out of the bag and revealed their five month relationship to the world by posting a number of Instagram photos of the two out on the town.
Megan Rossee is a model who self describes as "a Los Angeles based model/actress with experience in High Fashion Print, Runway, Film and Television." Unfortunately, our best efforts to find evidence of her film and television career turned up nothing (and she has no IMDB or Wikipedia page). There's certainly no reason to call her modeling credentials into question, especially considering both her print portfolio and of course how she looks.
After officially revealing their relationship on Twitter, the couple made another red carpet appearance in London at an event for Speedo, further solidifying their status. Rossee admitted that it was a lot of attention, but handling her newfound spotlight well.
Congrats to Phelps for the career, the girl, and for continuing to be a step ahead of everyone else when it comes to his personal life.
