UPDATE 06/13/2014: Last year, we learned that Martin Kaymer's wife Allison Micheletti was no longer his wife and had moved on by marrying retired NHL great, Mike Modano. With Kaymer setting a major record 130, -10, through 36 holes at the 2014 US Open, the question now begs, who is Martin Kaymer's girlfriend?
Honestly, tough to tell. The German golf pro keeps a low profile on his dating life, which seems completely reasonable given the tawdry public breakup and having to watch Micheletti marry another professional athlete. Should Kaymer hoist a trophy after 72 holes on Sunday afternoon, we will likely have a better idea. With a 6-stroke lead, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled on this one.
UPDATE: Martin Kaymer's mother would have been proud of him today. Kaymer sank a 30 foot putt to win TPC by one shot on Mother's Day, which was extra special for him since his mother Rina died of cancer in 2008. To this day, Kaymer keeps his mother's favorite flower, a sunflower, on his bag.
So we'll be honest here, we may have dropped the ball. While we'd found information saying that Martin Kaymer's wife was Allison Micheletti, we're not entirely sure if that's correct anymore. The more we read, the couple may have never married and just stayed dating. Now no matter what their status may have been, we know what it is now - broken up.
Allison Micheletti is married to Mike Modano, ex-NHL star. The couple has been spotted around Dallas in recent weeks, and she's even tweeted pictures of them together. While we know what Allison's up to, we can't say the same for Martin. Last check, he wasn't dating anyone, but we'll probably find out more during the Master's.
Martin Kaymer's wife Allison Micheletti is a former collegiate golfer at Furman University who recently attempted to qualify for the European Ladies Tour Q-School. While doing so, Martin skipped the Tiger Woods hosted Chevron Open to return to Europe just 2 days after winning the PGA Championship to caddie for Allison. After shooting a first round 89, her score dropped to 76 with Martin carrying the bag.
