Take Phillies rookie pitcher Jonathan Pettibone for example. Barely a month after his major league debut, Pettibone is already making headlines off the field in Philly. Notably, while attending Chase Utley's All-Star Animal's Casino night, the buzz began when what appears to be Jonathan Pettibone's girlfriend Kacie McDonnell arrived on his arm.

While the exact status of their relationship isn't currently clear as of yet, this wouldn't be McDonnell's first relationship with a professional athlete. McDonnell previously dated Vikings QB Christian Ponder long before Christian's wife Samantha Ponder was in the picture. McDonnell is a traffic reporter in Philadelphia, so being well known on the local scene isn't entirely surprising.

For what it's worth, McDonnell isn't exactly going out of her way to deny or hide from the relationship rumors. McDonnell posted a picture of the couple together, Tweeting Utley All Stars @Jon_Pettibone. While no confirmation has come out from either camp, we'll keep an eye on these two as the season goes on and keep you posted.

Yainee Alonso is the sister of Yonder, who met Manny while the Yonder was playing at the University of Miami. Machado told the Baltimore Sun about the relationship with Alonso despite different home jerseys:

That’s the thing about Miami people. Guys that live in Miami ... I might live in Hialeah and he might be from Key West, but you’re from Miami, so even if we don’t know each other, we know the name and, automatically, it’s like we’ve known each other for years."

Manny and Yainee are set to be married on December 6, 2014 in Paris. As Machado told the Baltimore Sun in the same article, he's excited to officially become family with his closest friend Yonder, saying “We’re already like brothers,’

I know a Craig Anderson. You know a Craig Anderson. I'm pretty sure everyone in America knows a Craig Anderson. In the spirit of PlayerWives.com, I can say that for the guy I know - Craig Anderson's wife is way cooler than him.

But you're not here to know about the common Craig Anderson. You're here to know about the Ottawa Senators' goalie Craig Anderson. Hockey playing Craig Anderson's wife Nicholle Anderson has been in the picture since 2010, and he also appears to have done quite well for himself. Craig and Nicholle were married in the summer of 2010, and had their first child together, son Jake, in the summer of 2011. Anderson was traded to Ottawa late in the 2011 season before signing a four year extension to have some stability in his hockey life.

Following the 2011 season, many speculated that the Illinois native Anderson would be contacted by Team USA to play in the World Championships. With their son on the way, Anderson shot down that possibility before even being asked, telling the Toronto Sun,

"They haven't contacted me directly, but my agent and I have talked about it, and we just decided that I've been away from my wife too long these last couple of months here, we're expecting a baby in July, and I think family is important. Not getting to see her for the 21- or 28-day tournament, whatever it is, could be tough on the family life. If she wasn't pregnant and I hadn't been away from her for a couple of months, I think it might be a different story."

The Anderson's split their time between Ottawa and Florida (where Nicholle is from) where they live in the offseason.

Every time I tune in, the leaderboard is littered with names I've never heard before and all basically kids under 30. This is the Tiger effect. What I think everyone means by The Tiger Effect, is the new wave of guys like David Lingmerth becoming a possible big name in the PGA who only picked up clubs because they watched Tiger dominate. Granted in the case of David Lingmerth, he's done nothing on the PGA....yet, but he's one of many young golfers trying to break out on the PGA Tour and all because they want to copy Tiger.

If David Lingmerth does become a star, I hope he keeps his girlfriend Megan Mercuiro around because I'm intrigued by this one. If you are a young kid on the tour it's tough to find pictures of your significant other. Luckily Twitter has helped us out again and we have a small sample of what Megan looks like and I think we can all agree we want to see a little more. That's only going to happen if David holds up his end of the bargain and makes some type of move on the PGA Tour. Stay Tuned....

While Kevin is a very religious person, how he met his wife is anything but. Kevin and Courtney first met at a breakfast counter in Las Vegas. The couple dated for roughly four years and were married in Marco Beach, FL on May 25, 2008. During their dating years, Courtney estimated that she saw him only once a month. Being the wife of a PGA pro has its perks, these days Courtney now attends upwards of 90 percent of his events. She even caddied for him at an event once, when a scheduling conflict prevented his regular caddie from attending.

Jennifer Palmer works at Ryan's charity, The Ryan Palmer Foundation, which provides golf clinics, golf programs and scholarships to local youths in need. For every shot that Ryan makes on the tour, the couple makes a donation to their charity - up to $5,000 for a hole-in-one.

Ryan and Jennifer Palmer have two children, son Mason and daughter Madelyn. Jeff credits fatherhood with helping him to settle down, saying:

It's so nice to go home after a round and they don't care what I shot. Mason is just ready to play.

Very soon thereafter, Jeff Maggert began showing up at tournaments with his new girlfriend, the bartender from the private party - Michelle Austin. The couple has been together since then and has two twin children together (whose birth he was able to be present for, thanks to skipping a Ryder Cup). Michelle Maggert owns and operates a Stella & Dot business (we have no idea what this is) and also does the requisite athlete wife charity work.

To her credit, Jeff Maggert's ex-wife Kelli Maggert doesn't appear to hold a grudge about the divorce, saying:

This is probably as good as a divorce could be. He's spending more time with the kids. I now see Jeff more the way other people do, as aloof and uncommunicative. In the long run, I think Michelle and I will talk more than Jeff and I ever did. She's a communicator.

Henrik Stenson is a perfect example. Great golfer, extremely consistent, but there is nothing to him that makes him stick out. I was hoping his wife Emma Lofgren might be the exception but alas she is your typical Swedish blonde with the added bonus of being a talented athlete (again, nothing wrong, but nothing spectacular either). Growing up Emma Stenson was an extremely good alpine skier, but ultimately ended up focusing on golf as her sport of choice. She went to college at the University of South Carolina where Henrik was introduced to her. Sharing the common bond of golf the couple quickly hit it off, married in 2006 and had two children, Lisa and Karl . Again nothing special here outside of both being insanely talented individuals with relatively good looks.

Maybe I'm asking for too much here but what would it take to find the Dennis Rodman of Sweden? For now I'll have to settle for Mr. Consistency Henrik Stenson and his good looking but not drop dead gorgeous wife Emma.

Since Kevin is virutally a no name, having only won a single tournament (on the Nationwide Tour), there aren't a lot of great pictures of Ms. Petrie. Even still, with the few I found (thank you twitter!) I'm very much intrigued to see what the deal is with her. I think I'm on board with Elizabeth Petrie but I'm not 100% committed to this yet, I just need to know more before i make that jump. If Kevin happens to win a tournament I can guarantee Elizabeth will be waiting for him on the 18th and boom, she will blow up like the godfather.

I mentioned above that Elizabeth and Kevin are dating for sure but might also be engaged. Couldn't find anything to confirm they are engaged but I did find a wedding registry for September 28 of this year under their name. September 28 would be a prime date for a golfer to get married since that is right after the last major event (The Tour Championship) and a week before the President's Cup (which I'd be shocked to see Kevin qualify for). So I'm feeling confident in saying the two are engaged. Looking at Ms. Petrie's twitter account I think we have a full on sports fan on our hands. She has reposts from many sport celebrities and media types and basically nothing else outside of a Blake Shelton post asking if he qualifies for legalized marijuana in California. So here is to hoping that very soon we get to see Kevin walking off the 18th green with a title and finding out a little bit more about his girlfriend/fiance Elizabeth Petrie.

It's always fun to bet on how long these relationships will last, especially with the European based football players who tend to be led astray by anything that bats an eye in their direction. But I'm not feeling too confident placing any bet against Stachurska and Lewandowski. The reason for my bet is simple; Anna could kick Robert's ass if he ever laid eyes on another female. The soon to be Mrs. Lewandowski is a karate black belt champion who finished third in the 2009 Karate World Cup. The couple actually trains together with Robert crediting Anna for helping him improve his aerial game through the workouts.

Looking at the couple you can tell they have to be the "it" couple in their home country of Poland. I'm actually not sure there are a lot of famous couples from Poland but I think Anna and Robert would be a TMZ.com staple in any country. They are actually referred to in Poland as the "Polish Beckhams." Anna and Robert plan to marry in 2013, most likely in the summer during Robert's offseason, in the capital of Poland, Warsaw.
